Due to the constant expansion of the Service centre we are aiming to grow the number of Unix specialists in our teams for this and next year.
Currently we are looking for

UNIX/Linux Support Engineer

The role:

Your daily duties will include technical support for servers on which different UNIX operating systems are running. You will provide remote assistance to HP all over the globe. The Support Engineer focuses on continuous operation, project and change management of the operating systems, many of them within a high availability environment. The main goal is to minimize the amount of unplanned downtime in the customer's production environment and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction while working against Service Levels Agreements.

Requirements:

Technical skills:
- Extensive experience in administrating UNIX and/or Linux-based servers.
- Very good scripting know how in various UNIX shells (bash, C and Korn shell) and Perl programming
- Good knowledge of networking technologies (bridging, routing, trunking, VLAN etc.)
- Basic knowledge of FC SAN (loop, fabric), storage (SCSI, RAID5, LUN etc.) and backup technologies would be an advantage

Soft Skills:
- Availability to integrate into complex projects
- Experience in independent project work
- High competence in troubleshooting and bug fixing
- Very good collaborative ability /very good team player skills

Language skills:
- English language skills
